A Year Ago Today: Global confirmed cases of COVID-19 pass 3 million with the death toll at 205,000. US has 1/3 of all new cases.

The United States has been one of the main countries that show the rest of the world of what not to do. Almost all scientific studies that have been done to assist in stopping the spread of Covid were largely ignored by many people. Sadly that sort of spread has not stopped until the vaccine has started to be distributed across North America. Even with the vaccine there are people trying to avoid getting it.

Freedom has always been the forefront of what the United States is supposed to represent. People want the freedom to be able to decide whether or not they should wear a mask but seem to forget the other freedoms the people give up in order to live in safety. From needing to wear clothing in order to be in public or work laws in order to keep employees safe, some freedoms are given up.

What is your opinion on giving up some of your freedoms in the land of the free?

  1. I life you will give up some freedoms to do what you to but after a certain point you have to draw the line.

  2. My opinion on giving up some of your freedoms in the land of the free really depends on if it would benefit the common good and if so I agree with it.

  3. I personally feel that people must give up their freedom in certain situations to overall act ethically and morally. To speak directly on COVID, wearing a mask is a new custom that people follow because they care for themselves and others around them. It’s a matter of staying safe and a way to promote optimal health. Therefore, giving up freedoms in the land of the free is inevitable.
