Dunkin’ is promoting its seasonal menu for Valentine’s Day with an experiential campaign that includes a chance for couples to get married or renew their vows in a drive-thru lane.
Dunkin’s “Marriage is on the Menu” contest was inspired by a Dunkin’ employee who last fall got married at the drive-thru where she first met her husband.

I feel like this is a good marketing plan especially since you can’t have a big wedding like you used to and also if someone likes dunkin that much it would probably be the next best thing to a regular wedding.
I think this is a good marketing plan because I know there are a lot of people that want to get married and can’t because of covid or they can’t afford it because covid may have affected their employment and I’m sure this is something Dunkin Donuts took into consideration which is why I think this idea would be good for bringing them in some extra money while doing something nice and unique for other people.
I think drive thru wedding is a smart marketing move, since there is going to be a lot of people trying to do something special for this valentines coming up, and since we are still in a pandemic, a drive thru wedding sounds like a good candidate for those who want to make their loved ones feel special, this will definitely bring more consumers to dunking and they don’t lose anything in trying something new for their consumers.
i think this is good because people dont want to catch covid so they can go through the drive thru to propose or surprise their partners , also this was an very smart thing to come up with the menu knowing that people love donuts
I’m not sure if it is a good idea because many people follow traditional wedding procedures I’m not sure it will bring in a lot of business but ig certainly will bring in some. But I don’t think it’s as much as people are thinking
I totally agree with you Trenton. There are many things in a wedding that you wouldn’t really get to experience in this type of wedding. I just don’t think that people would want this special day to be help at a donut shop.
To base off what Diego said it really is a fantastic marketing strategy.
Even though the idea is magnificent and touching to a certain level, in my opinion timing couldn’t be worse we are still in the middle of a pandemic and the fact that cases are still very high cannot be avoided. I can understand the necessity for business to adapt and find new ways to promote and advertise their products, but I could only agree with such new thing if is looked after and creates no new problem for the people.
I like the idea of having a drive through wedding. It’s very simple and cheap and a bonus is that you get some good donuts and other sweets. It’s really nice that they are doing that for others since we are in a pandemic and cannot afford to have such big weddings with many people and risks others health. It’s a nice idea and hopefully it does well and Dunkin Donuts does a bit more for the newly wedded people.
I personally wouldn’t want to be engaged or have a drive-thru wedding but the idea is cute. If you are truly a lover of donuts or Dunkin’ and dream to be asked there are with donuts then I say go for it. Donkin’ will be giving the couple gifts and treats to go with this amazing day. I think it would be a fun experience and something not many have ever done before, something very unique. It will be something interesting to see but I wouldn’t want my special day to be held at a donut shop.
I do not think this is a good marketing plan in the age of COVID-19 to gain holiday business because it doesn’t sound serious or something that people would actually do beside around 3 people in an area. Personally, I think that this idea is funny but not something that people would take seriously because who wants to do something this important at a donut drive through.
I believe that it is good marketing because COVID has affected a lot of things such as marriages to reduce the spreading of the virus, so instead of having a big marriage you can have a much more convenient marriage at Dunkin and many people that are wanting to get married at times like these.
A drive-thru wedding will definitely be done by some hardcore fans in the age of COVID-19, but I believe anyone else who isn’t one of those hardcore fans will probably go for a more grand venue. This will probably bring a few profits, but not enough that’s drastic.
Personally, I would not to a drive thru wedding but I do believe it’s a great marketing plan, especially those who are big on staying safe during Covid. Covid has impacted society and our everyday plans drastically. This would definitely be more convenient for people and is a great idea.
In my perspective, I think that this is a good marketing plan during the pandemic because since we are all still in the pandemic, big weddings aren’t the safest thing at the moment. This plan would be very convenient to reduce the risk of people having to wear a mask at a big event and from possibly spreading the virus. I personally find it heartwarming that Dunkin took the initiative to encourage this opportunity.
It could be a good idea, with people not going indoors to dine, and it’s a quirky, fun way to get married. I’m almost sure you’d never forget getting married at Dunkin donuts. Plus, most people swear by their coffee.
Having this drive through is a good idea for those who don’t want anything big for their wedding especially through covid or for couples who had to cancel their wedding and just get legally married due to covid have a chance to celebrate.
I think it’s a really good idea and also is really cute. and with Covid going on you can’t really have really big gatherings like a wedding or a concert so I think it’s really thoughtful that they’re doing something like that for the public.
Having this drive through well get them a lot of customers in a time like this. Some people will just go to renew there vows as a little memory and some might go to do something little for their wedding. At the end of the day their making profit and making a bunch of couples happy.
Is this a good marketing plan in the age of COVID-19 to gain holiday business?
Yes I do think it’s a good marketing plan because it limits close contact. Social distancing is very crucial in today’s age and having a drive-through waiting is a good idea and should we used more. Apparently drove through weddings I’ve been around for a long time so I know there’s a lot of people that would want to do a drive-through wedding. So cool shouldn’t be a big issue with the drive-through wedding
I believe that this is a good marketing plan during the age of covid many weddings happen during the holiday, so there is a demand so why not tap into the market and make free money for very low effort and resources.
I personally wouldn’t want to have a drive through wedding as my official wedding. I do however think the renewing of vows is a really cute idea. Social distancing is the new norm in today’s society and this idea allows couple to still spice up their relationship while also remaining safe.
This seem like a very smart idea for business and could bring a profit during covid19 but there are some minor flaws in my eyes. Firstly if someone is renewing their vows in the drive through how long would it take and wont it make other customers impatient. Secondly how well would this apply to dunkins demographics.
I think this is a good campaign strategy for Dunkin’ donuts because a lot of people have probably been wanting to renew their vows but be if covid they couldn’t. But now there’s a cute little way for couples to be able to experience it and even eat a few donuts.
I think this is a good marketing move because no one has ever done this before. These types of things aren’t common and because of that people will want to stop by to see what’s going on.
I feel like it is because since people don’t wanna go inside a restaurant because of the disease having a marketing on drive-thru can benefit. I believe this maybe true because consumers will believe this is a “safer” method of getting food faster and quicker without the extra expenses of Ubers. This may be a specially great since people will want to find a way to celebrate the holidays, especially Valentine’s Day with their lover.
I believe a drive through wedding is a insanely smart idea. Being that there is a Pandemic and jobs are slowly decreasing people may not have the income to support and pay for a huge wedding. I believe its going to help people have cheaper and more cost effective marriages that can also leave funny and sentimental memory.
While this was a very interesting turn of events to have a wedding at Dunking, this is well thought out because with the love holiday coming up people will be giving romantic gestures to their significant others and what better place than Dunkin because its affordable, romantic, and even unique. Who can really say they got married at Dunkin’ donuts. This is also good marketing for their company because they are receiving a lot of attention from this already.
I really wonder how this will turn out. I think that when people are wanting to get married they try to get married some place special, I’m not sure a lot of people will want to get married though a dunkin donuts drive through. But maybe with covid and how there isn’t as much traveling going on, instead of couples traveling someplace special to get married they might settle for something like this.
I think that this is a smart idea Dunkin’ Donuts came up with but to be honest
Who would really want to get married at a Dunkin’ Donuts drive through so it’s a
Good idea but to me it might not work.
This a good marketing plan for people who don’t really care about their wedding ceremony and only care about getting married legally. And it can help stop the spread of the virus.
I think this is a good idea. If people do not want to catch covid this is perfect they can surprise there partner for valentines day. The propose part really threw me off but some people might like it, it is the thought that counts.
I feel like this is a new way to market items especially during a pandemic like Covid-19. this could become the new way to create holiday business.
I believe that this is a good marketing plan because it provides something unique that no other food chain has though of. For all of the doughnut lovers, I think this is a great idea and option for them to have.
Drive thru wedding is taking marketing to the next level. Is this a good marketing plan in the age of COVID-19 to gain holiday business?
In my person opinion, this is a good marketing plan in the age of COVID-19. When people are in the mindset of love, boringness, and need something spontaneous, they will do anything that brings them joy and more love. Valentine’s Day is the perfect day for something like this because the love people have for each other on this day is grand.
I think this a great marketing strategy. Who doesn’t like donuts and love? Although, people who like more traditional weddings won’t even take a look at this. Though there are more people who like laidback cool weddings with fewer people and this could be a great chance for a younger couple.
