The Passing of Queen Elizabeth II: 1926 – 2022

Queen Elizabeth II, the longest-serving monarch of the United Kingdom, died aged 96 at Balmoral after reigning for 70 years.

The Queen’s death is a shocker to people worldwide, and it’s a moment where history stands still. The Queen has been part of many people’s lives since she rose to the throne in 1952. For perspective, this is far longer than many of us have been alive, and for many, it’s the only monarch they have known and seen in their lives.

For many now, the question stands of what is next. The days after the death of the Queen have been meticulously planned and include various Bank and Statutory holidays around the UK. Further, it includes various other official functions in nations such as Canada, Australia, and New Zealand. In the following days, you can expect a 10-day mourning period in the UK, various statutory holidays in the UK and other commonwealth nations, and the closing of the London Stock Exchange on the day of the Queen’s funeral. Programming on the state’s news, including the British Broadcasting Company (BBC), will be suspended for the foreseeable time.

Other changes are coming to the UK and various nations as well. Changes to currency such as coins and bills will proceed to now have King Charles III’s face, and police officers, passports, and other UK departments will change their insignias and patches to have the royal cipher of Charles III.Click here to read the source article

  1. the queen passing caused a lot of commotion around the world and not just in England. I think the next ruler of England will make many changes to England

  2. It will be affected in governments more because it still controls Canada, Australia, and New Zealand’s laws because the queen was the one who approved the laws. We don’t know what to expect from Charles the third. Many are not sure how this will affect it economically.

  3. I think that soon after her death, the entire country will probably be shutting down a little bit and the economy will of course slow itself down while people are mourning and are trying to figure out how they are going to continue the royal hierarchy. Later, i think other things will have to change as well, like money printing designs, for example.

  4. I think that the country will be shut down for a little bit after her passing that serves as a little grieving period. I have questions that arise when i think about her passing. What will the do about the currency with her face on it? Will it now be her sons face? And what about the Canadian currency also as it has her face also.

  5. After the passing of Queen Elizabeth II, I believe that the economy and the people in said economy will have a period to have the chance to grieve the passing of the Queen. I also believe that nothing would change drastically since the Queen’s death.

  6. Britain will definitely follow tradition and mourn for a period of time, but I feel that the effects of this on anything other than gathering the mourning of the related countries and peoples will be lackluster. The Economy might dip a small amount for Britain, but I doubt that the country will drop extremely during this time period. Basically, the social effect will be large, but the economic effect will probably be less than most think.

  7. Queen Elizabeth death cause a lot of commotion in the UK, an hour in people making jokes on social media about her death, Martha got to hear her last words.

  9. With the Queen’s death and the various traditional policies in place, how do you believe economies and governments worldwide will be impacted during these next few months? Is there anything you believe other than economically will be impacted, too? I think economies overall are actually going to benefit from the queens death. Her death, may she rest in peace, has brought upon a lot of attention and jokes in the general public and people have already been able to make money not only off of the amount of views but merchandising as well. I think the only other change may be the morale in the country.

  10. I believe economies and governments will only be effected within Europe because this death does not entirely effect the u.s very much.

  11. After the Queens death I believe the economies and governments worldwide won’t be impacted that much if their were something to be impacted it would be the government now that their is going to be a new king it won’t be the same.

  12. I think they are going to mourn the death but it’s going to be a big thing because the whole internet was making jokes and it wasn’t even an hour that it had hall

  13. I think that queen Elizabeth death really shocked everyone. It was something that was something you really couldn’t expect to happen and her death is very sad. But her passing way is going to change a lot of things in the future. Like they will probably make her death day a holiday to just mourn her passing always because she was queen for so long.

  14. Economies around the world probably won’t be impacted as much other than the fact that the face on their money would change. I think that King Charles iii would make many changes and that could impact other countries.

  15. I think that after the Queens death, Britain’s economy will be facing a recession because the Bank of England had been expected to raise interest rates next week to tackle inflation that hit 10.1% in July, a 40-year high and the highest of any leading rich nation. The British pound is also at it’s lowest value since the 1980’s

  16. I don’t think the queen’s death will affect the economy that much, because king charles is the next king so the government doesn’t have a problem with that, however. I do think that there may be some changes because of it.

  17. I don’t think the queen’s death will affect the economy that much, because king charles is the next king so the government doesn’t have a problem with that, however. I do think that there may be some changes because of it.

  18. I don’t think the queen’s death will affect the economy that much, because king charles is the next king so the government doesn’t have a problem with that, however. I do think that there may be some changes because of it. Ok

  19. It will be affected in governments more because it still controls Canada, Australia, and New Zealand’s laws because the queen was the one who approved the laws. We don’t know what to expect from Charles the third. Many are not sure how this will affect it economically.

  20. I think the queen dying will impact the economy in ingland alot because of new queen taking the throne and she might change some or many things.
