The National Football League (NFL) has announced that its Sunday Ticket subscription package will be available on Google’s YouTube TV starting from the next season, marking its second media rights agreement with a streaming service.
Sources familiar with the matter have reported that YouTube TV will pay approximately $2 billion per year for the Sunday Ticket rights.
Beginning in the 2023-24 season, Sunday Ticket can be accessed through two different options: as an add-on package on YouTube TV, or as an individual a-la-carte subscription via YouTube Primetime Channels, which allows users to subscribe to a range of streaming services and channels and watch movies. Pricing for the latter is yet to be announced.
Commenting on the announcement, NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell said: “For many years we have been committed to increasing digital distribution of our games, and this collaboration is another example of us looking towards the future and developing the next generation of NFL fans.”
Sunday Ticket rights have been held by DirecTV since its inception………
