MoviePass Beta Goes Nationwide, Tests a New Unlimited Plan | CNET

MoviePass is back with a vengeance and it’s bringing its hallmark all-you-can-watch plan with it. The company is now expanding its beta nationwide, and it’s considering bringing back its all-you-can-watch plan that made it famous. This time, however, it’s going to be at a price point that’s higher than the $10 rate it was originally known for.

MoviePass CEO Stacy Spikes have confirmed the nationwide launch details with CNET and has announced the expansion with a YouTube video sent to those on the waitlist. In the video, Spikes emphasizes the new credit-based system instead of the flat-rate pricing, noting that the New York City-based plans start at a $20 Basic level for 68 credits. This translates to roughly one to three movie tickets per month, which is still much cheaper than the cost of traditional movie tickets.

The new plan also allows users to purchase additional movie tickets at a discounted rate, up to three per month. Spikes notes that the plan is still being tweaked and tested, so users may come across some glitches while using the service. Additionally, MoviePass is looking into bringing back its all-you-can-watch plan, just at a slightly higher rate.

Overall, this news is exciting for those who have been waiting for the nationwide launch. MoviePass is offering a great deal on movie tickets, regardless of the cost. With the new credit-based system and discounts on additional tickets, it’s a win-win for those who love going to the movies. Now that the beta is finally here, we’re sure to see more users hop on the MoviePass bandwagon……Click here to read the source article[read more]

  1. I believe the standard plan would be the best bang for your buck, 30$ for 4-7 movies is the most realistic of these offers to me, maybe i personally dont go to the movies that often but 20-30 movies a month seems like extreme overkill. Movie pass may manage to survive this time due to increased prices (more revenue) and collaborations with the metaverse

  2. In my opinion I would say that the standard plan would be the most realistic selection, with pricing of $30 for 4-7 movies which Is what the average consumer in my opinion would watch, I’m not someone who personally goes to the movies that often so 20-30 movies a month seems like extreme overkill. Movie pass may manage to survive this time due to increased prices (more revenue) and collaborations with the metaverse

  3. This seems more reasonable because this will be cheaper then going to the movie theater with multiple people and with movie pass you can watch the movie with multiple people

  4. I’m thinking the most affordable and cheaper value would be the standard pass for starting at $30 USD ranging with 4-7 movies for the average consumer would watch. I don’t personally go the movies so often for more movies in a month seems too much. The pass may mange to survive in some point this time around due to the increased prices (also more revenue) and collaborations with the metaverse.
