Cleveland Guardians merchandise to go on sale at Progressive Field, online starting Today

(Cleveland.com) — The wait is almost over. Cleveland Guardians gear goes on sale at the team store at Progressive Field today, November 19.

The first items bearing the Cleveland baseball team’s new name and logos were originally supposed to go on sale this past Monday, but the launch was postponed without explanation. Then, on Tuesday, the ballclub announced it had reached “an amicable resolution” to the lawsuit filed by the Cleveland Guardians roller derby team over the use of the name.

National online sales will begin at 9 a.m. Friday at MLBshop.com and Nike.com/fan-gear before spreading to other sites like Fanatics.com on Tuesday, Nov. 23. The team store at Progressive Field will be the only local business selling official Guardians merchandise until the collection becomes available at other Northeast Ohio retailers beginning also on Nov. 23.

The team shop will be open from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. today, offering free donuts, coffee, raffle prizes and a gift to the first 50 shoppers. The store will be closed on Nov. 18 to prepare for the launch.

That is also the last day the team will be officially known as the Indians, a name it held since 1915. The organization will transition to its new website and social media channels on Friday, too. Full Loaf Hot Link Merchandise Original Article By: Joey Morona
