  1. there will be more truckers therefore more merchandise will be transported which is good for bigger companies. for insurance industries they’ll have mire clients therefore make more money

  2. by allowing younger people to apply the trucking industry will get more drivers to transport merchandise getting both the companies and the trucking industry more money

  3. there will be more truckers therefore more merchandise will be transported which is good for bigger companies. for insurance industries they’ll have mire clients therefore make more money, AND there will be more truckers therefore more merchandise will be transported which is good for bigger companies. for insurance industries they’ll have mire clients therefore make more money

  4. By allowing an 18 year old to be able to drive big semis from state to state I think is a good thing because it offers my jobs for an 18 year old

  5. This offers many things for 18 year olds because they don’t have much experience with actual jobs so it gives them the opportunity to be part of different work communities

    1. But allowing 18 year olds to drive trucks this allows them to have great job opportunities when they get out school .

    2. I think it might be a little different. While it could be marketed as a way to allow new adults (18 year-olds) to gain some experience, it really is to make up for the fact that there is a shortage of truck drivers. Though, on the flip side, you could say this is a good way for people to get into the trucking industry!

  6. Transportation Department making a turnaround by allowing younger drivers to drive because they seeing how responsible teens can be and that teens always awake never tired so this could be like a good thing for us teens. The only effect that can really happen is crashing some teens can be reckless and speed or maybe texting while driving. yes

  7. I think this is a good idea to start letting younger people drive trucks. People that don’t want to go to college and want to enter the workforce straight out of high school have a job that pays fairly well. I think younger people should go through more extensive truck driving training to make sure they are ready for the road. But other than that is seems like a good idea.

  8. There is simply a shortage of truck drivers, and finding quality truck drivers is an even bigger task. Allowing more truck drivers to truck across state lines will benefit everybody, costs of goods will be cheaper, cost of freight will be cheaper, most people will benefit.

  9. Having younger Adults driving these types for vehicles can be beneficial to a delivering based company but also the clientele. There will be more truckers therefore more merchandise will be transported which is good for bigger companies; Also it’s a way to keep production going.

  10. This might raise the stadards for truck drivers as well and might go into the same process as plumbing and apprentiship jobs. Truck driving might become available in trade schools as well, this would raise the wages for truck drivers, although it will let less people into the job.

  11. Why is the Transportation Department making a turnaround by allowing younger drivers to drive 18 wheelers across state lines? What kind of effect, if at all, will this have on the insurance industry when rating younger drivers in the future?

I think allowing younger drivers to manage 18 wheelers across state lines is beneficial for everybody. More truckers will be around and younger people will be getting the experience sooner than normally. I think the insurance industry would decrease their policies with younger drivers because they have proven themselves to be professional and have experience.

  12. In a pilot program, the federal government is going forward with a plan to allow adolescents to drive heavy trucks from state to state. Currently, truckers must be at least 21 years old to cross state lines, but an apprenticeship program mandated by Congress to help alleviate supply chain backlogs would allow 18-to-20-year-old truckers to travel beyond their home states.

  13. Allowing younger drivers to drive 18-wheelers over state boundaries, in my opinion, benefits everyone. More drivers will be present, and younger workers will get expertise sooner than usual. I believe the insurance sector would reduce premiums for younger drivers because they have demonstrated to be professional and experienced.

  14. I like the idea that teens are able to have more profitable jobs what if some people need money or drop out this can be a good job for people like this and its just driving brining in more merchandise to stores and people which will help the shortage go down.

  15. I think this is a good idea because it benefits both the company who’s truck is being driven and the 18 year old who is driving it, it offer theme a job at a young age and gets them a reliable drive which could come with good benefits

  16. I think they are allowing teens to be a truck driver to expand their options to possible employees. Also with the unemployment rate and people not going to work they see this as an opportunity to possibly get more employees.

  17. allowing teens to truck drivers is beneficial because that creates more drivers that transport more merchandise and produce more money

  18. For people who don’t want to go to college and want to enter the workforce right out of high school, it’s a great idea to start letting young people drive trucks, although I think young people should go through truck driving training. longer to make sure they’re done. for the walk.
