Sinclair Finalizes Bally DTC Streaming Deal for 16 NBA Teams — The Streamable

Sinclair’s upcoming DTC streaming service just got a big shot in the arm. As The Streamable reported last week, a deal has now been wrapped to lock up streaming rights for 16 NBA teams.

Why is this a short-term deal and not a long-term deal? Is the pricing model that Sinclair is looking at acceptable to attract subscribers, explain?

  1. Sinclair only received the rights to 16 NBA teams because the NBA has deals with other tv services to stream games locally that being said having about half the league is still go. And the deal was short term because the NBA is just keeping there eye out for better contracts in the future. But the price of Sinclair package will hurt them because there are better options out there to save more money.

  2. This is a short term deal and not a long term deal because it’s probably not going to profit very much at all. The pricing is not acceptable because most other streaming platforms like Hulu can be 20 dollars a month and u get to watch all the NFL teams just by using red zone. Although they do not have NBA tv, there is still YouTube red which is only 10 dollars:

  4. They only received the rights to those specific teams because the other teams have a deal going on with another service. The NBA is looking for better deals that can make them for money.

  5. I don’t personally think that that was a good purchase because people aren’t going to be willing to buy it because of its price and the price of competitors…it also doesn’t have all NBA teams so people are going to be skeptical
