Missed Apple Event Live? How to Watch iPhone 16, Apple Watch 10 Launch | CNET
Apple’s annual September event dropped the latest lineup of iPhone 16 models, and there’s much to discuss. Along with the iPhone 16 Pro and Pro Max, Apple also updated us on the Apple Watch Series 10 and the next-gen AirPods. These shiny new gadgets are packed with features, though, as always, there are a few surprises and a couple of “wait-for-it” moments. While Apple gave us the goods of new colors and some exciting AI-driven features, there’s still a bit left to the imagination, especially regarding battery life—a crucial point for many users.
Speaking of those colors, Apple seems to be embracing the vibrant side with bright pink, blue, and green iPhones. But beyond the flashy looks, there’s some impressive tech under the hood. The iPhone 16 lineup is driven by Apple Intelligence (their AI-driven engine) with a new A18 chip, bigger memory bandwidth, and an optimized battery (though details were a little sparse). Apple also teased that AI features would roll out later in the year, hinting that the best is yet to come.
What’s setting the iPhone 16 apart this time? The camera game is strong. The 48-megapixel camera with pixel binning, 2x telephoto lens, and a new 12-megapixel ultrawide option are designed for sharper and more detailed photos, even in low light. On top of that, the phone’s screen is super bright—up to 2,000 nits—and has a customizable Action button and a Camera Control button for some pretty cool touch features. For gamers, ray tracing and a brand-new thermal design make it clear that Apple is serious about mobile gaming.
The iPhone 16 Pro and Pro Max go even further on the premium end, starting at $999 and $1,199, respectively. With a 6.9-inch Pro Max screen, these phones are not just larger, but made with tougher titanium. They also boast a faster sensor readout, 4K slow-motion video capabilities, and pro-level color grading features. In addition, some enhanced audio features with spatial audio capture are available, and Apple is aiming to make these phones the go-to for creatives.
The Apple Watch Series 10 and the Watch Ultra 2 got some love, too. The Series 10 has been redesigned to be sleeker and more efficient, with a more prominent display and a thinner profile. It’s water-resistant, charges faster, and even includes a sleep apnea tracker. On the other hand, the AirPods Max and Pro 2 have been upgraded with better sound quality, head gesture controls, and a new USB-C charging case. Overall, these updates, while not mind-blowing, keep Apple on the cutting edge………..[read more]
