Gone are the golden days of the Dollar Menu, but McDonald’s is cooking up new ways to keep prices palatable. Enter McValue, a fresh value platform rolling out nationwide on January 7. The fast-food giant is bringing back wallet-friendly deals, including a $5 meal deal and a tempting “buy one, add one for $1” offer. The goal? Give customers more ways to enjoy their favorites without breaking the bank.
McDonald’s is also leaning into digital perks, with exclusive in-app deals and local franchise discounts making it even easier to score a bargain. Joe Erlinger, McDonald’s USA president, says McValue isn’t a one-size-fits-all approach but a way for customers to define value on their own terms. Whether you’re craving breakfast, lunch, or dinner, there’s something on the menu to satisfy both hunger and budget.
For breakfast lovers, McValue includes classics like the Sausage McMuffin, sausage biscuit, sausage burrito, and hashbrowns. If you’re stopping by for lunch or dinner, you can grab six-piece McNuggets, a double cheeseburger, a McChicken, or small fries at a reduced price. Plus, the $5 meal deal—which bundles a McChicken or McDouble with small fries, a four-count McNuggets, and a drink—sticks around through next summer.
This isn’t McDonald’s first attempt at balancing affordability and profit. The original Dollar Menu, launched in 2002, had mixed results, and its 2018 replacement—the $1 $2 $3 Dollar Menu—faced criticism for lacking true $1 options. McValue, however, seems to be McDonald’s latest bet on keeping customers happy while adapting to inflation and shifting consumer habits.
