Most Americans Living Paycheck to Paycheck Expect To Spend The Same Or Less | CBS News Miami
In a recent survey conducted by Forbes Advisor, it has been revealed that many Americans who find themselves living paycheck to paycheck are approaching this holiday season with caution when it comes to their spending habits. Close to half of respondents stated that they intend to spend roughly the same amount as they did the previous year, while nearly one in five expressed plans to tighten their financial belts. Interestingly, around 30% of those who barely have any disposable income left after covering their living expenses plan to increase their holiday spending.
When it comes to budgeting for gifts, the survey found that 35% of Americans anticipate spending between $251 and $700, while 38% are planning to allocate between $751 and $1,500 for holiday presents. If in the past you didn’t have money to spend for the holidays and you wish to be more prepared in the years to come, you should start saving money throughout the year for that purpose.
Many consumers don’t realize how much money they spend every month. For that reason consumers should start budgeting and savings their money throughout the year because they can see how much they saved and spent.
By budgeting and setting money aside for specific events and holidays, as well as planning ahead what to buy it will be a lot easier to balance and find financial stability. The implications could be dire in some situations and can even lead to a break in the economy, financial education plays a major role in helping people make informed decisions about holiday spending by giving insight on things to buy and how to manage your money.
individuals and business can balance celebrating and maintaining financial stability by having and setting spending goals for themselves, for example they make a plan on how much they want to spend each month and have to stick to that same plan. Another way both individuals and businesses can maintain is by saving, so starting a savings account where they can put some of their paycheck in each time as money the can spend on things like celebrating and the rest of the paycheck will be for savings.
Balancing celebrating and financial stability is essential for individuals and businesses, especially during holiday seasons because having a spending goal is important for responsibility and in the long run.
By paying people more or decreasing the prices during the holiday season can allow the consumer to have enough money to make it through the holidays while the business will have more people buying the product since it is discounted. Also not having any saving is just a problem with out financial education. We don’t know how to. We like to spend and putting money aside just makes people think that is more money to spend on what they want and not what they would eventually need. Especially during this spending season, NO ONE will be saving money but selfish people or people who are financial responsible enough to balance both spending and saving.
