This college application season is turning out to be one of the most chaotic in recent memory, leaving both students and colleges navigating through a maze of new challenges. From the overhaul of the federal financial-aid application process, known as FAFSA, to the return of standardized testing requirements by some elite institutions, students are facing unprecedented hurdles. The confusion is further compounded by the recent elimination of affirmative action in college admissions, adding another layer of complexity to the application process.

The introduction of a new version of FAFSA has been particularly problematic, plagued by technical glitches and system errors that have prevented some families from submitting their applications.
