In the age of streaming, where entertainment is just a click away, saving money on TV bills has become a hot topic. Recent research by Bango reveals some fascinating insights into our streaming habits. While ditching cable might seem like a budget-friendly move, the average American household is shelling out close to $1,000 a year on streaming services alone!

Bango surveyed 5,000 individuals and discovered that the average person subscribes to about 4.5 services, ranging from video streaming to gaming and news platforms. Despite the variety available, 57% of participants admitted canceling subscriptions due to recent price hikes, and 67% said they couldn’t afford all the services they desired.

Surprisingly, even though streaming bills can add up, they still come out cheaper than traditional cable TV packages, which can cost over $200 a month. Parents seem particularly willing to invest, spending an average of $83.40 monthly, with one in ten opting for educational subscriptions for their children.

To help consumers keep track of their subscriptions, services like Rocket Money are stepping in, offering to scan bank accounts and list all subscriptions in one place. This could be a game-changer for those struggling to manage multiple bills.

However, the landscape is changing. While password sharing used to be expected, crackdowns by companies like Netflix and Disney+ mean more people are paying for their subscriptions. People in the streaming industry can add shows that their consumers liked so that consumers will give the streaming service more recognition and praise. Profitability should be no issue with streaming services but offering bundles for various affordable prices can really benefit the streaming service and in turn consumers will be more open to come back to these services.

For many Americans subscriptions to brands for streaming services is now a bigger deal than before. When we see a bundle of three channels together for s certain amount of money it’s considered worth it because you aren’t paying for them separately. With the bundled deal it guarantees you more benefits sometimes with being free of ads and seeing things before others. Like with Disney if you have their Disney plus subscription you can see their new releases ahead of others who opposed to that only own Netflix. It makes marketing more beneficial for both the company and consumer when wanting to get their part of the bargain. Companies should continue bundle offers to ensure their consumers continue to buy what they have to offer.

Americans need to save more and not spend so much. So many Americans are in debt and don’t have the money to be spending on unnecessary expenses such as streaming services. Streaming service should offer bundles for different affordable prices and it would really benefit the streaming service as well as lead to consumers being more open to come back to these services.
