This decline raises concerns about potential labor shortages in industries that rely on community college graduates, such as healthcare, food services, and truck driving.
Furthermore, as the job market increasingly demands workers with higher education levels, community colleges may face challenges in meeting the demand for skilled labor in these industries. If enrollment continues to decline, employers may struggle to find qualified talent, which could lead to reduced services and even job consolidation.
