In an innovative blend of culinary delight and anime fantasy, McDonald’s is set to captivate the hearts of fast-food enthusiasts and anime fans by launching its new anime series, “Welcome to WcDonald’s.” This groundbreaking initiative transforms the familiar McDonald’s experience into the fantastical world of WcDonald’s, a playful anime rendition of the global fast-food giant. Starting Monday, McDonald’s will introduce this anime-themed universe across more than 30 markets worldwide, complete with a unique sauce, manga-inspired packaging, and captivating episode shorts designed to immerse customers in a narrative-driven dining experience.

The collaboration with Studio Pierrot, a titan in the anime production industry, marks creating the first official WcDonald’s anime series. This series will unfold through weekly short episodes from February 26 to March 18, each celebrating a different anime subgenre, including action, romance, mecha, and fantasy. These stories, ranging from thrilling races to interstellar adventures, are designed to engage viewers and bring them closer to the WcDonald’s brand in an unprecedented way. The episodes and accompanying manga will be accessible through WcDonalds.com or by scanning a code on WcDonald’s packaging, which features artwork by the renowned manga artist Acky Bright.

In a bold move, McDonald’s is also introducing a promotional sauce that promises to tantalize taste buds with its blend of ginger, garlic, soy, and chili flakes, perfectly complementing a 10-piece WcNuggets. This culinary innovation is part of a broader strategy to offer a multi-sensory experience beyond the palate. On March 9-10, the first real-life WcDonald’s will open for a two-day immersive dining event in Los Angeles, California. This experience will allow fans to enter the WcDonald’s universe, brought to life through 360-degree projection mapping and tabletop projections inspired by the anime shorts.
