Samsung’s Smart Fridge Revolution: Grocery Shopping from Your Kitchen

Imagine never running out of milk again—not because you wrote it down on a list, but because your fridge did the shopping for you. Samsung is making that a reality by upgrading its AI-powered Bespoke refrigerators to let users restock groceries directly from their fridge screen. Thanks to a multi-year partnership with Instacart, Samsung’s “AI Vision Inside” technology will now recognize food items and help consumers order more with just a few taps.

This cutting-edge feature is set to launch in Samsung’s 2025 Bespoke fridge models, with an upgrade rolling out to older AI Family Hub+ fridges that already have food recognition capabilities. The system uses cameras and deep-learning models to keep track of what’s inside, recognizing over 36 different foods. If the fridge doesn’t recognize something, users can manually enter its name and expiration date. With this new update, missing an ingredient for dinner could soon be a problem of the past.

Of course, there are some requirements—users will need both a Samsung and Instacart account, a Wi-Fi connection, and must live in an area where Instacart operates. Samsung sees this as more than just a cool tech upgrade; it’s part of a broader strategy to enhance the smart home experience by collaborating with innovative companies like Instacart. As technology makes shopping more seamless, the line between household appliances and digital marketplaces continues to blur.

Looking ahead, Samsung’s newest Bespoke fridge models, including the 9-inch AI Home screen edition, will be unveiled at CES 2025. Samsung describes this version as a more compact alternative for those who want big technology in a smaller package. With refrigerators now joining the list of smart home devices that connect directly to e-commerce, grocery shopping might soon feel as effortless as streaming your favorite show………full-loaf-600x400-1-e1700879832480 New AI powered Samsung refrigerators will allow direct grocery ordering | FOX Business[read more]
