Reports flood social media platforms like Threads with complaints about Chase cards being declined when used with Apple Pay. Even Nilay Patel, editor-in-chief of The Verge, shared his experience of facing a declined Chase card while attempting to purchase. What’s more concerning is that it seems to be a widespread issue, with numerous customers encountering the same problem.

The problem appears specific to Chase customers, leaving users wondering if other banks are also affected. Despite the inconvenience, Chase’s customer service lines are inundated, with wait times stretching up to 15 minutes. Disruptions like these could make users of these things feel like they can’t trust it as it might just malfunction on them at a random given time. Companies that this might happen to can send out update or upgrade notifications to make sure that users know when this will be happening.
